QUILT GROUPS

  • Quilt groups consist of quilters who meet to work together, either in person or via Zoom.
  • There is no formal teaching component. Quilters learn from one another.
  • Some meet to create charity quilts.
  • Some meet to work on individual projects in a group setting, either single day Sew Days or multi-day retreats.
  • Many are free while others have a small fee to cover venue costs.

For more information email the Workshops Coordinator. Use this address if you are mailing your payment.

Note: On this page , each meeting has a limited amount of space. If you can't see the entire description, click on the red Show details link to view the individual meeting page.

Welcome to the Zoom Surf and Turf sew along. If you have never done the stitch and flip block method, this will be a great activity to start it and get support along the way. The kick off meeting was September 24 and we talked about fabric and how to begin.

The group will meet once a month on a Wednesday evening.  It will mostly be the third Wednesday of the month with a few on the fourth.

Newcomers are welcome. Wendy will be working with the patterns, "Surf" - Going Coastal and/or "Turf" - Wonderful Woodland, created by Art East Quilt Co. Other patterns from Art East Quilt Co. or by Elizabeth Hartman that feature the stich and flip block method can also be used.

You could check with your favourite local quilt shop, or contact Art East Quilt Co., which offers physical patterns, as well as digital patterns, and has a bundle deal for the two Surf & Turf options. https://arteastquiltingco.com/shop

All members are welcome to join us if you have purchased a suitable pattern. If you don't register, you can find the Zoom link for the sew along in the Members Only section under Zoom meetings. The benefit of registering is that you will automatically receive a reminder email containing the Zoom link one day before each session.

Join us once a month on Zoom on the 4th Thursday for a relaxed afternoon of quilting and chatting from your own sewing room! There will be no session in December.

You can join and leave anytime, so don't feel you have to commit for the whole time if that is not an option.

Find a neglected project or a problem block and get motivated by your fellow quilters.

During this 1 hour session, we will discuss how you would like to see the club run and when you would like to meet. I will come with some suggestions, but I would like to see this club as a collaborative exercise.

I hope you have already obtained your copy of “ Lucky Spool’s Essential Guide to Modern Quilt Making” Compiled by Susanne Woods. If not, you still have some time.

There is no fee for this event - just register on this page so we know how many to expect, and we have your email address to send you the link.

The fabric requirements, cutting instructions and first clue come out mid December so you can go ahead and prepare your fabrics and finish the first clue. It makes it easier to complete the quilt top in one day.

Thanks for registering and we are looking forward to seeing you! Let me know if you have any questions.
